Alex to contest the Virtual Belcar series with Narviflex E-Racing by GHK
Updated: Jul 24, 2020
After finishing in the top 5 in Racing League Romania's latest season, Alex is already training for his next sim racing adventure as he aims to stay in the best shape possible for an eventual return to real-life racing in Supercar Challenge with BSRacing.
The Belcar Endurance Championship - a series he already tasted success in, is launching its own virtual championship consisting of five endurance races. Virtual Belcar will debut with the first race on Sunday, the 24th of May, and Alex will join the team which took him to an unexpected podium in the 2019 24 hours of Zolder. Together with Sven Janssens and Jelle Verstraeten, he will take the wheel of the #65 Narviflex E-Racing by GHK Radical SR8. The team will run two Radicals in total, with the sister, #66 GHK E-Racing by T2 car, being driven by Brent Verheyen and Stef Delnooz and a GHK E-Racing CUP by T2 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
Just like in 2019, open-cockpit prototypes will be the championship's top class, Belcar 1, and strong competition is expected, with top Belgian and international sim racers set to take part. The championship will consist of four different car classes which compete on track at the same time, very similar to the real Belcar Endurance Championship. The competition will be organised in iRacing, a simulator Alex will need to quickly adapt to, after a two-year absence.
The series starts on Sunday, with a 3-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps, and will consist of five races in total. The virtual 24 hours of Zolder will also feature on the calendar, being the grand final of the series.
