Alex Cascatău to race in Ultimate Cup Series super final at Paul Ricard with ANS Motorsport

Alex Cascatău will end the 2022 season on a high by once again racing the brand-new Nova Proto NP02 in the competitive Ultimate Cup Series not long after scoring the car’s first-ever victory in the Dutch GT & Prototype Challenge at Spa.
Who’s ready to hang up the overalls, kick back and relax ahead of the holiday season? The answer is, certainly not Alex Cascatău. The Romanian still has one race meeting left to tick off the list in 2022. The former GT & Prototype Challenge champ got reacquainted with the series in the best way possible earlier this year and vowed to return behind the wheel of the Nova Proto NP 02. As it happens, take two will occur this weekend.

The track is France’s Circuit Paul Ricard near Le Castellet, which has been the venue for the French GP in recent years. Now, it will host the season-ending four-hour endurance race of the Ultimate Cup Series (UCS). The international endurance series catering towards GTs and prototypes will bow out in style and Alex will be there to race the NP02 for ANS Motorsport.
The team has already got to know the car throughout 2022 and scored its maiden win at Hockenheim, in Germany, a while back. Now, with Alex partnering Pierre Corroye and French Hillclimb star Nicolas Schatz, the team is out to beat a field of LMP3's, CN's and futher NP02's.

The grid full of prototypes is set to be exciting in the final, with the 13 cars entered at the previous round at Magny-Cours expected to be once again present on the grid in Le Castellet. With big names on the grid, such as former LMP1 driver driver Mathias Beche who raced last time out, the series is a true benchmark in terms of prototype racing. Alex welcomes the opportunity of being able to compare himself with some of the best prototype racers in Europe.
With one more race left to do, Alex looks to put the disastrous Romanian Endurance Series season finale in the back of his mind and start re-focusing his attention on what lays ahead as he evaluates his options for 2023. As always, if you wanna get in touch with Alex and help him in his quest to stay active on the international level, you can always use the contact details displayed on the website.

The race will be live streamed on the Ultimate Cup Series YouTube Channel and Facebook page.
Alex Cascatău: „I really loved driving the new Nova Proto NP02 at Spa last time out, so when Nicolas contacted me about this opportunity I couldn't say no! Ultimate Cup Series has been on my radar now for quite a while as a possible step up on the prototype scene, and I know the championship is very strong. This is now part of my evaluation for next year, and a full season in UCS is definitely on the cards. Until then, I want to give my best for ANS Motorsport and end this year on a high at a new track, in Le Castellet!”
